Yaxha is an impressive city located near Tikal. This city is less known but it certainly has a lot to offer. During your visit, you will walk in the middle of the jungle and will see a good number of Mayan constructions, squares, and stelae. The Yaxha and Sacnab lagoons surround this place, and from the top of one of the Yaxha pyramids, you can see a sister city called Topoxte.
Undoubtedly, one of the greatest attractions of this site is to see the sunset over the “Temple of the Red Hands”. This temple is so-called because at its top there is a red two-handed painting dating from the classical period when this city was booming. Getting to the Mayan city of Yaxhá will take us 1 hour and a half but you will enjoy the road as there are many green landscapes.

As soon as we arrive in the city of Yaxhá, it won't take long for you to start seeing the first structures, palaces, squares, and stelae. This city was contemporary with the nearby city of Tikal. This city is not very known and you will see fewer tourists compared to Tikal. We will walk in the middle of the jungle and when the sun is about to fall, we will climb to the top of the structure called "Temple 216" or also known as "Temple of the Red Hands", our main attraction of the tour.
