Visit the Laos Elephant sanctuary in the beautiful jungles of Muang Thong where you will see 60+ elephants surrounded by picturesque mountains. Eco-tourism is promoted here in collaboration with the local population. Elephants are protected in the sanctuary and not exploited through harmful activities such as elephant rides. They allow guests to see, take care of and take part in feeding the elephants. The project is situated within a national forest reservation. This tour also includes a jungle expedition with activities such as hiking, and wildlife education. You will stay within a local village in a simple but comfortable traditional bamboo hut. Here you will gain valuable insight into local life by learning to cook local dishes with local villagers, and take part in a string tying ceremony which villagers believe brings good luck and protection.
