Egersund Fayancemuseum tells the story of Egersunds Fayancefabrikk, a factory that supplied the Norwegian people with quality stoneware for 132 years!
The factory is a prime example of industrialization in Norway. It was founded by Johan Feyer, a young entrepreneur who learned the secrets of the pottery industry in Newcastle upon Tyne and applied this knowledge to start his venture in Egersund. His factory soon became the largest stoneware producer in Norway.
When visiting our museum, you will experience a handpicked selection of objects from the factory's long history and follow changing trends and styles through more than 100 years!
