Start from Ventimiglia, accessible by train, for this extraordinary day out: soak up the flavours of Italy & pedal softly along a seaside cycle path, then join a riverside to follow the course of the Nervia valley to its most famous, wonderful and spectacular village:

Dolceacqua, its medieval bridge and castle & its labyrinth of narrow streets under arcades (local produces: wines, olive oils). The village, which seduced the painter Monet is particularly picturesque.

A 2nd medieval village in the valley with its succession of natural waterfalls & crystal-clear waters (a highlight for canyoning and a remarkable natural site).
