Experience Dominica’s agricultural traditions during a five-hour private visit to a family-operated farm in Atkinson.
Meet your host at the confirmed pickup point and travel through Dominica’s countryside to the farm. Begin with a welcome refreshment and an introduction to the property, the family, and the role agriculture has played in the surrounding community.
Walk through areas where tropical fruits, vegetables, herbs, root crops, and other seasonal produce are cultivated. Learn how crops are planted, maintained, and harvested by hand using traditional methods.
Your host will explain how weather, soil, seasons, and phases of the moon influence local planting practices. You will also learn about the farm’s approach to growing food without synthetic pesticides.
Participate in at least one hands-on seasonal activity. Depending on the growing cycle and weather, this may include sowing seeds, preparing soil, planting, harvesting produce, tending crops, or another suitable farm task.

Complete the farm experience with a tasting of available seasonal fruit, fresh juice, or locally prepared herbal tea.

Because this is a working farm, the crops, fruits, and hands-on activities available will change with the season. The experience will always include a guided farm exploration, traditional agricultural knowledge, at least one hands-on activity, and a seasonal tasting.
If the farm becomes unavailable, you will be offered a comparable agricultural or cultural experience at no additional cost. You may choose to accept the alternative or cancel the affected booking for a full refund.
