My name is Maxime, and I am an independent guide specializing in discovering the Alsace wine region. I invite you to enjoy an authentic experience just 20 minutes from Colmar: a walk through the vineyards, a cellar tour and a commented tasting of 6 Alsace wines.
Whether you're a wine lover or simply curious, this tour is designed to be accessible to everyone. No prior knowledge is necessary: I adapt to your questions and your curiosity to help you understand wine in a simple way, without jargon.
As you explore, you will come to understand the connection between the Alsatian landscapes, the terroirs, the climate, the grape varieties and the winemaker's choices. The goal is simple: to help you better understand what you see in the vineyards and what you discover in your glass.
A discovery in three stages
Walk through the vineyards — approximately 1 hour
We set off on foot from the estate to discover the vineyards of Alsace and their landscapes.
I will explain how history, geology, climate and the work of the winemakers have shaped this unique region. We will also discuss viticultural practices, including biodynamics, as well as the tasks carried out throughout the year to care for the vines.
This walk is an opportunity for discussion: you can ask any questions you have and take the time to understand the landscape around you.
Cellar tour — approximately 1 hour
We continue the tour on the estate to discover how grapes become wine.
I will introduce you to the main stages of winemaking: pressing, fermentation, aging, and the winemaker's choices. You will learn how these decisions influence the styles of wines produced, from white wines to red wines and Crémants d'Alsace.
Guided tasting of 6 Alsace wines — approximately 1 hour
We will conclude with a convivial tasting of 6 wines selected to showcase the diversity of the Alsace wine region.
I will guide you in discovering the aromas, sensations and characteristics of each wine. Everyone can share their impressions: there are no wrong answers, only the pleasure of discussing.
