2. The Savitsky State Art Museum & Lunch Break (Nukus) Next, we visit the capital city of Nukus and you will step inside the world-famous Savitsky Museum. Globally acclaimed as the "Louvre in the Desert," it houses the world's second-largest collection of banned Soviet avant-garde art, successfully hidden from the KGB regime.

The Haunting Muynak Ship Graveyard (Cemetery) We then drive north to the edge of the Ustyurt Plateau to reach Muynak, a former bustling Soviet fishing port now surrounded by the dry Aral-Kum Desert. You will descend onto the dusty, former seabed to walk through the iconic Ship Cemetery. Standing beneath these massive, rusted iron hulls stranded in the middle of the sand dunes is a powerful, unforgettable experience.

Muynak Museum & The Lighthouse Memorial Next, we visit the Muynak Ecological Museum, which showcases poignant black-and-white photographs, documentary footage, and artwork capturing the lively era before the sea disappeared. Afterward, enjoy a sweeping view of the empty desert from the historic Muynak Lighthouse monument.

5. The Mizdakhan Necropolis (Ancient City of the Dead) We conclude our sightseeing at the Mizdakhan, an incredibly atmospheric, vast archaeological complex dating back over 2,000 years. This sacred pilgrimage site features a mix of ancient Zoroastrian burial mounds and beautiful medieval Islamic mausoleums. You will explore the legendary, half-buried "World Clock" tomb, the subterranean mausoleum of Mazlumkhan Slu, and the ruins of the ancient Gyaur-Kala fortress.
