This one-day walk is perfect for nature and archeology lovers, as it invites us to encounter the natural environment of the area and be amazed by the Inca constructions that we will see along the way. We will leave Cusco early in the morning, on the way to the lake, we will pass through the city of Limatambo, which during the Tahuantinsuyo was a gateway to the capital of the empire, Cusco. There we will see the archaeological zone of Tarawasi, built during the government of the Inca Pachacuteq as a tambo or resting place for those who traveled to Chinchaysuyo (northwest). The adventure will begin upon arriving at the community of Soraypampa, from where the approximately four-hour walk to Lake Humantay begins.

We will continue ascending the trail until we reach 4,200 meters above sea level and find the lake and its turquoise waters at the foot of the mountain. The landscape and the pure air we breathe will be our best reward. In addition, we will have time to take photos, have a snack and explore the surroundings before starting the way down to Soraypampa, where the mobility will be waiting for us to begin the return.
