Embark on a full-day private tour of the Sacred Valley from Cuzco, delving into the rich heritage of the Incas. Your adventure begins at 7:30 a.m. with a convenient hotel pick-up. Then discover the picturesque village of Chinchero, the Church of Our Lady of Monserrat, and its unique handicraft market, where you can buy impressive Andean handicrafts.

We will continue our tour by visiting the village of Maras and the agricultural experimentation terraces of Moray, it is believed that in this fascinating area, the Incas created their micro-climate to adapt plants, flowers, and many other products from different parts of the Inca empire.

Continue to the Maras salt mines located just below Maras. These mines are still in operation, and locals work in them during the day. An impressive network of salt mines has been used since Inca times. Upon completion and returning to our private transportation, we will then head to the town of Urubamba, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch that will allow you to enjoy the delicious Peruvian gastronomy.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress, which was a strategic military, agricultural, and religious center that administered and controlled the Sacred Valley of the Incas. This archaeological site comprises a series of overlapping terraces that show impressive and large stone blocks.

As a last point we will visit the city of Pisac, this impressive place will give you advanced knowledge of what the Incas achieved in architecture, as it was a kind of “royal hacienda”, property of the Inca Pachacutec, composed of terraces, domestic structures, ceremonial and aqueducts that provided water for agriculture.

Another good reason to visit Pisac is its handicraft market, where you can find some unique and authentic souvenirs. The market attracts thousands of visitors dressed in colorful traditional costumes. It is recommended that you buy all the handicrafts here, as they are cheaper than in the city of Cusco.

While touring the picturesque villages and breathtaking landscapes of the Sacred Valley, you will learn about the Inca culture and its historical importance, all with a professional guide who will accompany you throughout the tour.
