Pinky’s is a laid-back local favorite for all-day breakfast, wraps, and smoothies. And La Preña brings serious flavor with Venezuelan arepas stuffed to perfection from their food truck.

As you journey along Ashford Avenue, you'll pass landmarks like the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel, a symbol of the area's early 20th-century development, and the La Concha Hotel, renowned for its distinctive architecture. A local beach adjacent to a huge public park, Playa El Último trolley is at the far east end of the route. Here we stop for a piña colada and chat with Ramon, the local kiosko operator. Here travelers will get a glimpse into local life and meet new people who offer things such as salsa classes at the beach.

The farthest west part of the route. This beautifully restored 19th-century promenade, constructed between 1852 and 1854, stretches about half a mile along the southern city walls, providing stunning views of San Juan Bay. As you journey down this tree-lined path, you'll encounter antique streetlamps, vibrant street vendors, and the iconic Raíces Fountain—a sculpture celebrating Puerto Rico's rich cultural heritage. The route also passes by the historic La Princesa building, once a prison in the 19th century and now home to the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.
