Learn to carve chopsticks from cypress wood using craftsmen's tools in a quiet workshop in Sasazuka, Tokyo, just a short train ride from Shinjuku. Shape the wood, refine the form with sandpaper, and finish with camellia oil to create chopsticks tailored to your hand size and preferred cuisine. A chopstick artisan will guide you through the process with care.

Additionally, participants can opt to experience the lacquer-coating process firsthand. This rare opportunity includes a tour of the normally off-limits lacquer workshop, offering a deeper understanding of Japan's lacquer culture.
