This is a great family friendly rafting experience traveling through class 2 and 3 whitewater rapids starting right at the Cotopaxi office. Explore the beauty and wildlife in Bighorn Sheep Canyon. Have a delicious lunch by the river halfway through your trip.
After checking in you will meet your guide at the tour supplier's office. Get fitted with the necessary rafting gear and you will then be provided a safety briefing so you know what to do before you get on the river. Once you are ready you will push off on the river and start your adventure through the Bighorn Sheep Canyon.
Set off beneath the dramatic Cotopaxi cliffs on a smooth stretch of river to help ease you into the trip. Admire spectacular views of geological formations and the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Look for bighorn sheep as you make your way down the river. This trip will start out pretty mild and will build in excitement as you continue down river.
Midway through your trip you will stop for a hearty riverside lunch that will be prepared by your guide. Lunch usually takes about 45 minutes and they you will get back to the river adventure. The second half of the day has a lot more class III rapids and builds in excitement. Along the way your guide will teach you about the floor and fauna of the river corridor and some of the history of the area.
After rafting about 20 miles our driver will be waiting there for you to transport you back to your vehicle are the starting point. This trip is a great way to see Colorado's great outdoors and spend some quality time with your family and friends.
