Start your trip to Cortona from one of its most scenic spots. From here, we will enter the heart of the historic old town, following the so-called “ruga”, the main thoroughfare of the village, lined with historic buildings, small cafés, and craft shops. Walking along the cobbled streets, you will have the opportunity to truly immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Cortona: ancient doors, unexpected views, narrow alleys that suddenly open onto squares full of life.
We will reach the two main squares, bustling with bars, restaurants, and local activities. Here I will share anecdotes, interesting facts and details about how the town evolved from Etruscan times to the Middle Ages, eventually becoming one of the most fascinating destinations in Tuscany. You'll get a better understanding of how the city is organized, so you can easily find your way around for the rest of your stay.
During the tour, we will also visit some of the most important churches in the historic old town, true treasures of art and devotion. Inside, you'll discover works of art, architecture rich in symbols, and traces of the different eras that have shaped Cortona. There will be stops in front of local craft workshops and shops, where ancient crafts are still handed down today.
