See Copenhagen the way you would with a local friend. Your host is a Copenhagener who has lived here for many years, the group is never more than 12, and the stories follow what your group is curious about.
We meet under the clock in the main hall of Copenhagen Central Station and walk past Tivoli Gardens, Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, Christiansborg Palace and the Black Diamond. Then we hop on the public canal ferry that Copenhageners use every day, not a tourist boat. During the ride of about 25 minutes you see the Old Stock Exchange and the Opera House from the water.
Back on land we walk past the Gefion Fountain to the Little Mermaid, along the ramparts of Kastellet and through Churchill Park, stop at a café, and pass the Marble Church on the way to Amalienborg Palace. Every departure sees the Changing of the Guard.
Along the way you get personal recommendations, from where locals eat to what to do tomorrow. A conversation, not just a lecture.
Good to know
Start: under the round clock in the main hall of Copenhagen Central Station, between the 7-Eleven and the ticket machines. Please arrive 10 minutes early.
End: tours starting on the hour end at Amalienborg Palace. Tours starting at half past (9:30, 11:30 and 13:30) see the guard change and then continue to Nyhavn, where the tour ends.
Duration: about 3 hours.
Walking: about 6-7 km at a relaxed pace. Not suitable for people with walking difficulties.
The ferry: the public canal ferry is public transport, so seats can't be reserved. If it is full or not running, we walk the scenic canal route instead and still see every stop.
Bring: comfortable walking shoes, clothes for the weather, water and a camera.
