What you can expect

Copenhagen is consistently ranked one of the most livable cities in the world, and this 3.5-hour guided bike tour shows you exactly why. You will taste your way across the city while discovering how urban transformation, smart planning, and food culture physically shape the Danish capital. This is not a walk past food stalls. You will make food, taste your way across six stops, and ride between them on a classic Danish city bike, the way locals get everywhere.

We begin at our shop in the historic center for a quick bike fitting and briefing, then roll out toward the water. Our first stop is Islands Brygge, where dirty industrial canals were transformed into the city's favorite harbor baths. Here we pause for a hands on workshop: you will craft and eat your own traditional smørrebrød, layering fresh toppings on rye bread while we explore the history of the Danish lunch box and everyday food rituals.

The route then moves to Banegaarden, a sustainable urban farm built from recycled shipping containers. This frames our discussion of the New Nordic Food Manifesto and Denmark's shift toward local, seasonal, and low waste food culture.

Next comes a stop that surprises almost everyone: a vast green space that most visitors to Copenhagen never find. Over a specialty light roast coffee and a classic Danish pastry, we explore the true meaning of Hygge and what it means for a community to feel at ease, even in the most unexpected of places.

We continue to the Carlsberg Experience, pausing in the courtyard for a cold Danish beer while we unpack the link between brewing, science, and the physical expansion of the city. Finally, we conclude in Kødbyen, the Meatpacking District, where over a traditional Danish ice cream we examine controlled gentrification, industrial heritage, and how the city's gritty past coexists with its dynamic dining and nightlife scene.

Dietary needs: We can adapt the food stops for gluten free, vegetarian, and pescatarian diets. Please contact us right after booking so we can confirm we can accommodate your requirements.
