On this walking tour, let's get to know, Conimbriga, a city of enormous dimensions, candidate for world heritage, constantly undergoing archaeological excavations. The most important archaeological field in Portugal.
Let's visit the the ruins of the roman city (fountain house, the walls, the Cantaber house, the baths, the forum…) and the city's museum, full of various finds from the city such as coins, knives, games, glass, and ceramics.
After this visit, if tourists wish, we will head towards the village of Condeixa-a-Velha, right next to Conimbriga, a 20-minute round trip walk (easy walk), to see the arches of the Roman amphitheater. During our walk to the village, we will have a new panoramic view of some areas of Conimbriga. I think it's something extremely worthwhile to include in this route. Few tourists visit this place.
Meet your guide at the entrance to the National Museum in Conimbriga. The guide, João, presents himself with a bottle, t-shirt (or sweatshirt, green), and may have a cold day jacket. Our visit will end at the same place (National Museum).
The visit can start between 10:15 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Once you have made your reservation, I will contact you to arrange the start time of the visit.
