With Monumental Tuk Tours, explore the city of Coimbra in a unique way
Our tours are done in a quiet, environmentally friendly electric tuk-tuk.
Our host is a local polyglot who shares the history and secrets of every corner of the city on a fun and relaxed tour.
Take the opportunity to pass through streets where you otherwise wouldn't be able to go and truly get to know the first capital of the Kingdom of Portugal. After the tour, you can go directly to the most interesting places and avoid walking up and down the city's hills without really understanding what you're seeing.
The usual starting and ending point of the tour is Largo da Portagem, but we have the flexibility to pick up or drop off our customers at their hotel or at any other point in the historic old town.
The tour has 5 stops to get out of the tuk-tuk and take photos, notably at the famous University of Coimbra, but also at the city's most stunning observation decks, such as the Miradouro do Seminário Maior, Penedo da Saudade, Miradouro do Vale do Inferno, or the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Nova.
The tuktuk can carry up to 4 people in addition to the host and has removable transparent covers so that, regardless of weather conditions, it is always possible to pass by all the places of interest in maximum comfort.
As an add-on to the tour, we have printed guides with all the information about the places we pass by, including a map, in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian so that, in case there is a language barrier during the tour, everyone can understand everything about the city and the places we pass by.
