We leave Cusco at 4:00 AM, or the Sacred Valley (Ollantaytambo or Urubamba) between 5:00 and 5:30 AM. During the journey we will cross spectacular Andean landscapes until we reach the Abra Málaga, at 4,300 m a.s.l. (14,100 feet), where we will make short stops to enjoy the views—it is common to see llamas and alpacas grazing freely—and have a coffee or hot chocolate at that altitude (optional). At Julia and José's organic farm, you will learn about medicinal plants, taste seasonal fruits, and harvest cacao pods. Then you will toast, grind, and prepare your own chocolate, and you will discover new flavor combinations by tasting 100% cocoa paste with fresh fruits. After a homemade lunch and a brief 20-minute transfer, we will visit the Pérez family coffee plantation, where you will tour the coffee fields and participate in the entire process: harvesting, pulping, fermentation, and roasting of the coffee. We will close the day with a cup of coffee made by yourself. It is an authentic experience, full of learning, flavors, and connection with families who cultivate with passion and respect for nature.
