Monterosso al Mare

The largest and most resort-like of the five villages spreads across two bays—the medieval old town huddled beneath its defensive tower and the newer Fegina beach district stretching along the only real sand beach in the Cinque Terre. The old town's baroque churches, pedestrian lanes, and excellent restaurants maintain traditional character while the beach offers sunbeds, swimming, and the seaside relaxation the other villages cannot provide.
