Begin your journey from Christchurch between 7.00am - 7.30am with a transfer to the Christchurch Railway Station to board the iconic TranzAlpine Train for one of the world’s most scenic rail journeys to Arthurs Pass.
Travel across the Canterbury Plains, through braided river valleys, and into the dramatic Southern Alps.
Disembark at the small alpine village of Arthur’s Pass where you will reconnect with your Leisure Tours driver.
Take time to explore the alpine village and surrounding bush walks, relax at a mountain café, and keep watch for the playful kea, the region’s famous alpine parrot.
Departing the National Park by coach, we begin the return journey to Christchurch via Kura Tawhiti–Castle Hill Conservation Area, renowned for striking limestone formations and memorable photo opportunities.
