Over the course of five days, you will venture into the Cordillera Blanca to conquer Nevado Chopicalqui, following this itinerary:
Day 1: Huaraz – Base Camp
You will begin your adventure by departing Huaraz and heading towards Quebrada Llanganuco. Along the way, you will enjoy majestic views of Huascarán and Huandoy. Upon arriving at the base camp, you will set up your tent and experience the thrill of your first night surrounded by towering mountains.
Day 2: Base Camp – Morrena Camp
The trail becomes more challenging as you ascend to Camp Morrena. The landscape changes: rocks, walls of ice, and the proximity of the glacier signal that you are entering a different world. The night here will be magical, with the starry sky illuminating your rest.
Day 3: Morrena Camp – High Camp (Glacier)
Equipped with crampons and ropes, you will venture onto the glacier. The crunch of ice under your feet and the pure high-altitude air will accompany you to High Camp. Here, surrounded by snow and silence, you will prepare for the ultimate challenge: reaching the summit.
Day 4: High Camp – Chopicalqui Summit – Morrena Camp
At dawn, you will begin the final ascent. With each step across the glacier, you'll get closer to the summit, traversing crevasses and snowy slopes. Upon reaching 6,354 meters (20,843 feet), the reward will be indescribable: an endless horizon of snow-capped peaks of the Cordillera Blanca. After your triumph, you will descend to Camp Morrena to rest.
