Overview

  • Step into Chongqing’s history with Chongqing 1949, a spectacular 70-minute immersive theatre experience near Ciqikou Ancient Town. Travel back to 1949 and follow the story of three brothers whose different beliefs and choices shape their lives during a dramatic period of change. Instead of simply watching a stage, you’ll feel surrounded by the story as live performances, music, lighting, projections, sound, smoke, fire, rain, and changing scenery transform the theatre around you. From old Chongqing streets to a dark prison and a large-scale ship, each scene creates a new visual experience. Guests in Areas A and B can enjoy 360° rotating seats for an even more immersive view. Discover Chongqing’s history through powerful storytelling, technology, and human emotion, then explore the nearby Ciqikou Ancient Town before or after the show.
