Our meeting point is Casa Pumagui, a rural accommodation in Villaseca, Vicuña. There, we'll register attendees, hand out the necessary equipment, and give a brief talk on safety instructions and preparations before we start.
The hike kicks off in the evening, with a 1.5 km route and a 150-meter ascent to the first viewpoint. From this point, we'll enjoy the sunset over the Andes mountain range, while we share a brief gratitude practice and learn about the history of the town of Villaseca and the ancestral worldview of the area.
As night falls, we'll continue to the second viewpoint, where you'll settle into your seats for a guided meditation, accompanied by the sounds of Tibetan bowls and Andean melodies. A space designed for you to relax, reconnect, and get ready for stargazing.
When darkness falls, the sky becomes the main stage: the stars and the Milky Way appear, framed by the Andean mountains. We'll enjoy mountain infusions before starting the astronomical observation. Here, you'll learn to identify the constellations of the southern hemisphere, understand the movement of the celestial sphere, and discover how indigenous cultures used the sky to orient themselves and give meaning to their lives. All this in a unique space surrounded by towering mountains.
You'll have time to gaze at the sky with the naked eye and with astronomical binoculars, while interacting with the guide and having your questions answered. Plus, the experience will be captured in group photos under the stars, which will be sent in high-quality format to each participant.
The activity ends with a simple offering to Mother Earth and a return to the meeting point at Casa Pumagui.
