Wander into Narrow Alley for modern Chengdu vibes: relax in a bamboo chair at Sanlian Taofen Bookstore with an English copy of 《Three Cities》, or sip coffee at %Arabica while admiring the contrast of blue brick walls. Send postcards at the Panda Post Office in the alley. Learn about the "philosophy of width & narrowness" – Wide Alley housed officials, Narrow Alley hosted bannermen, and Well Alley (Jingxiangzi) was for commoners.

People's Park

Next, head to People’s Park. Try the "three-piece set" – bamboo chair, gaiwan tea, and ear cleaning (采耳) at Heming Teahouse.
