The Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune, built in 1340 and remodeled in the 17th century, is listed as a historic monument. This former fortress is now home to unusual collections.
In the grounds of the château, you will discover around a hundred fighter planes and helicopters. In the chateau and its outbuildings, 30 prototypes of Abarth race cars and more than 200 motorcycle models from 1903 to 1960 are on display, including those of Jean Mermoz and Chanoine Kir. Also worth seeing: a fire brigade museum, a museum of wine-making equipment and wine-growing equipment, a museum of high-clearance tractors, and more than 8,000 models.
On the property, the Petit Château (1671) houses the wine tasting room and the dining room (by reservation for groups of 20 people or more).
Since 1979, Michel Pont, a passionate collector and owner of the Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune, has opened his museums to the public every day to share his passions. His son, Christophe Pont, runs the château's winery with his estate “Les Caves de l'Orangerie” and invites you to discover some of the prestigious appellations of Burgundy wines.
