The Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune, built in 1340 and renovated in the 17th century, is a listed historical monument. This old fortress now houses unusual collections.
In the castle park, you'll discover a hundred fighter planes and helicopters. In the castle and its outbuildings, you'll find 30 prototypes of Abarth racing cars and over 200 motorcycle models from 1903 to 1960, including those of Jean Mermoz and Canon Kir. Also worth seeing: a firefighters' museum, a museum of wine and viticultural equipment, a museum of high-clearance tractors, and over 8,000 models.
On the property, the Petit Château (1671) houses the tasting cellar and the dining room (reservations required for groups of 20 or more).
Since 1979, Michel Pont, a passionate collector and owner of the Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune, has been opening his museums to the public every day to share his passions. His son, Christophe Pont, runs the château's vineyard with his estate, “Les Caves de l'Orangerie,” and invites you to discover some of Burgundy's prestigious wines.
