What you can expect

  • Discover the timeless charm of Catania as evening falls on a 2-hour walking tour with an official tour leader. An ideal experience to avoid the hot daytime temperatures and be enchanted by the wonders of the beautifully lit historic old town.
The route starts in the spectacular Piazza Duomo, where you can admire the Cathedral and the famous Elephant Fountain, the symbol of the city. From here, we will head to Via Crociferi, the triumph of Catanian Baroque, to admire its four historic churches from the outside, along with the elegant arches that make it one of the most photographed locations in Sicily.
The tour continues to the Pescheria area: although the famous market is closed at this time, the neighborhood reveals an intimate and evocative evening atmosphere. We will return to Piazza Duomo by passing through the monumental Porta Uzeda and then head back up Via Etnea, the city's “living room”.
We will make a stop in the beautiful Piazza Teatro Massimo, the heart of Catania's cultural and evening life, and then return to Via Etnea to reach Piazza Stesicoro. Here, we will conclude our walk by admiring the monument to Vincenzo Bellini and the impressive ruins of the Roman Amphitheater, historically known as the “Black Colosseum” for its distinctive lava stone.
