With the world-renowned and historic destination of Kealakekua Bay just minutes from our point of departure, the Captain Cook Exclusive is a personal, exciting, and efficient way to see the Bay named one of the world’s best snorkeling locations. Kealakekua Bay is a 315-acre marine sanctuary that boasts incredibly protected waters year round making it the best place in Hawaii for beginning snorkelers.

After a full hour of snorkeling in the crystal clear waters directly in front of the monument to Captain James Cook, you make your way back to Keauhou Bay along the South Kona coastline. Your Captain maneuvers our custom-made vessels into the sea caves at the base of Hualalai, hugging the coast and detailing the culturally significant and geologically fascinating features along the way. Watch for dolphins, whales, sea turtles, and even herds of thousands of goats! If you plan on snorkeling while in Hawaii and want to see what few do, this is the tour for you.

Perkara yang anda boleh jangka

Explore some of Hawaii's calmest waters during a 3-hour snorkeling trip complete with sea caves, lava tubes, and spectacular marine life. With guidance from a US Coast Guard-licensed captain, encounter wildlife up close in a Marine Life Conservation District perfect for snorkeling.

Embark from the south shores of Kona and keep an eye out for lively nai’a (Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins), honu (Hawaiian sea turtles), and—depending on the season—pods of kohola (whales). The small-group tour allows you to cruise through sea caves, along cliffs and coastline, passing blowholes, cinder cones, and lava tubes. Along the way your captain espouses Big Island history, local marine trivia, and points out striking landmarks along the coast.

Arrive at the Kealakekua Bay and Captain Cook Monument, a Marine Life Conservation District and where the first western explorer made contact with Hawaii. Hop into the warm Hawaiian water and explore the coral reef wall, dramatically dropping from 10 feet (3 m) to 130 feet (40 m). Often described as an “aquarium-like experience,” the Kealakekua Bay is home to a vast array of marine life, including turtles, eels, clown fish, and the humuhumunukunukuapua'a, the Hawaiian state fish.

After an hour in the water, return to the boat and bask in the sun's warmth as you enjoy some light snacks and beverages.
