Saratlı Kırkgöz Underground City is located approximately 22 kilometers (13 miles) from Nevşehir, in the Saratlı district of Cappadocia. Believed to date back to the Roman and early Byzantine periods, the underground city was carved into soft volcanic rock and used as a shelter during times of invasion and unrest. Ağzıkarahan Caravanserai is a remarkable 13th-century Seljuk structure located along the historic Silk Road, approximately 15 kilometers from Aksaray. Built in 1231 during the reign of Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad I, it once served as a secure resting place for merchants and caravans traveling between Asia and Europe. The caravanserai features an impressive stone portal, a large courtyard, and a covered hall where travelers and their animals could find shelter, food, and protection. Its solid architecture and detailed stone craftsmanship reflect the power and architectural sophistication of the Seljuk period. Today, Ağzıkarahan stands as one of the best-preserved caravanserais in the region, offering visitors a glimpse into Cappadocia’s important role in medieval trade and cultural exchange.

Tuz Gölü is one of the largest salt lakes in Turkey and one of the most extraordinary natural landscapes in Central Anatolia.
