Your day begins with pickup from your hotel in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, or nearby areas, followed by a transfer to the marina where you’ll board a small-group boat. As you head out to the whale shark area, enjoy light refreshments on board while your guide shares important information about the species and the excursion.

Before entering the water, you’ll receive a detailed safety briefing and snorkeling instructions to ensure a responsible and respectful interaction with the wildlife. Once whale sharks are located, you’ll take turns entering the water in small groups, accompanied by a certified guide.

The whale shark season runs from June to September each year. This tour is best enjoyed in July and August, when higher numbers of whale sharks significantly increase the chances of sightings and swimming opportunities. During first weeks of June and September, sightings are less frequent.
