Begin your adventure with a drive through the Zone, where the Americans were based during their time running the canal. Work your way along the railroad towards Gamboa, stopping on the way at the locks. Boats do not always pass through, but you might get lucky on the way back.
Stop to sample some of the local dishes, fruits, and juices. In Gamboa, take two distinct walks through the jungle. If you’re not into walking or are unable, there are always solutions, and kids are also taken care of. Swimming on the way is an option, weather permitting.
Once in the jungle, leave the canal with its amazing history, present, and future behind and focus on the jungle and its animals. Encounter monkeys, sloths, crocs, bugs, neque, gato solo, frogs, and lots of birds and butterflies. After both walks, stop at the local supermarket for a refreshing drink and some snacks. On the way back to the city we can stop at the locks again or at the stalls that were not open in the morning.
