6:00 am, depart from Ho Chi Minh City approximately 1.5 hour drive to the Can Gio Monkey Island, leaving behind the city’s hustle and bustle. With its serene environment and natural beauty, it has become an ideal destination for travelers.

Breakfast will be served on the van.

7:30 am, arrive in Can Gio Monkey Island - home to more than 2,000 long-tailed macaques. In addition, you can explore Can Gio Mangrove Forest in this area that has been listed as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. The site is an important wildlife sanctuary in Vietnam as it is characterized by a wetland bio-system dominated by mangrove and many rare species.

8:30 am, hop back in the van to the local boat station.

9:00 am, check in and get on the local boat.This is a typical experience when you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the locals reaching the island by public transportation.

9:30 am, arrive at the pier, hop on the Tac Rang boat (Local transportation). Tac Rang boats travel at a fairly fast speed, giving tourists a sense of adventure and exploration in the magnificent mangrove forest. Surrounding you are rows of characteristic mangrove trees blending with oyster farms along the river. Everything blends together like a lively watercolor painting, leaving us amazed and astonished.

10:00 am, you are welcomed at the ferry bridge, each guest will receive 1 conical hat, take a souvenir photo of Thieng Lieng welcome gate; get 1 bicycle for each guest and start the journey to visit Thieng Lieng with many activities.

10:15 am, enjoy a tasty water coconut ice-cream and take part in the process of making some typical Southern cakes from local pure natural ingredients with the locals and drink - the special juice from the fruits of carissa carandas shrub which are grown in their own gardens.

11:00 am, experience and learn about the salt-making profession of the Thieng Lieng salt-makers community. Salt production in Vietnam has been a thriving industry since the late 19th century, during French colonial rule.
You will hear an explanation about the process of making pure salt and spend a day as a salt maker on the white salt fields: raking salt, rolling the ground, spreading salt, shaping with salt…With nearly 400 hectares of salt fields, the salt makers produce more than 20 thousand tons of salt per year. In addition , you will visit the “salt house” which displays the profession of making salt, agricultural tools of salt farmers in Thieng Lieng.

11:45 am, keep cycling along its narrow paths and enjoy the serene natural landscapes before stopping for special and unique culinary heritage with regional specialties.

1:15 pm, leave the beautiful island and come back to Can Gio Monkey Island before heading back to Saigon.

5:30 pm, arrive in Saigon.
