The Egyptian Museum is the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East and houses the world’s largest collection of artifacts from ancient Egypt. Its vast exhibits cover a wide historical range, from the Predynastic Period to the Greco-Roman era. The museum’s architectural design was chosen through the first international competition of its kind in 1895, won by French architect Marcel Dourgnon. It was officially opened in 1902 by Khedive Abbas Helmy II and has since stood as a significant cultural and historical landmark in downtown Cairo, displaying some of the most remarkable treasures of ancient Egyptian civilization.

The Giza Pyramid Complex, also known as the Giza Necropolis, is situated on the Giza Plateau in Greater Cairo, Egypt. This renowned archaeological site features the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx, and the surrounding pyramid complexes. Constructed during the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt's Old Kingdom—around 2600 to 2500 BC—these monumental structures are accompanied by ancient cemeteries and the remains of a workers’ village that supported their construction. Located on the edge of the Western Desert, the complex sits roughly 9 kilometers west of the Nile River in the city of Giza and about 13 kilometers southwest of central Cairo. In 1979, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the nearby ruins of the ancient capital, Memphis.

The Great Sphinx of Giza is the most famous sphinx in existence. Carved directly from the bedrock during Egypt’s Fourth Dynasty (around 2613–2494 BC), it holds the distinction of being the oldest known sphinx in the country. In ancient Egyptian symbolism, sphinxes depicted the pharaoh with a lion’s body, embodying royal power, strength, and authority.
