Meet your expert licensed guide at your requested pick up point and begin your journey through the Ksamil Peninsula.
During this scenic drive you will enjoy the carefully delivered commentary full of historical and cultural details, describing geographical and monumental landmarks.
You will enjoy views of the Lagoon of Butrint, adjacent fields and hills, the monumental Hexamilion (Dema) Wall, Ksamil and its gorgeous islands, Corfu, and Mount Pantokrator before the Vivari Channel comes into view as a waterway connecting the Ionian Sea with Butrint National Park.

Rather than presenting isolated facts, your guide will lead you through the layers of Butrint as a continuous story, from Bronze Age Epirote foundations, Hellenistic expansion, Roman colonization, Byzantine transformation, Venetian adaptation, and its later rediscovery.

Move at a pace that allows time to observe, reflect, and connect different parts of the site into a coherent whole. Throughout the visit, your guide will also integrate broader context on how Butrint relates to the wider Mediterranean world, and how Albania’s more recent history shaped its preservation and interpretation.

Where relevant, your guide will draw on personal experience working at the site and growing up during the country’s transition, adding a grounded and human perspective. By the end of the visit, the site will feel understood rather than simply seen.
