The tour takes us from Tossens beach about 800 meters into the mudflats – to a small tidal creek and sometimes even to an old boat wreck, which we affectionately call our “shipwreck”. There's a lot to discover along the way: various shells, the almost legendary lugworms, the fastest snail in the world, and also beach crabs that like to spend the summer near the beach in the warm mudflats.
We'll test different types of soil under our feet, and if you're brave, you can even sink in really deep! We'll ask exciting questions together: Where does all the water go at low tide? And what's up with the tides? Let's solve this puzzle together!
You'll be accompanied by experienced mudflat and national park guides who will explain everything to you and be happy to answer your questions.
The tour lasts about 1 1/2 hours and ends at the beach in Tossens. In summer, you can easily walk in socks, and in boots from November to April.
The mudflats in Tossens are mostly solid. So the route is easy to walk.
