The Salida Valley is an enjoyable way for everyone to experience the Arkansas River. Small splashy rapids and lots of floating. A great way to spend the morning or afternoon with the whole family. Class I and II rapids are interspersed with sections of calm where you can relax and enjoy panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains, the blue heron, mallards and geese.

We float through the open Arkansas River valley with stunning views of the Sawatch Mountain range of the Rocky Mountains are the backdrop for this trip. We also pass through the town of Salida, and get to experience the fun man made rapids in the play park. The trip ends at Salida East State Park access area.
