This workshop offers a delicious and interactive experience where you’ll roll, coat and bake your own traditional chimney cake from pre-prepared dough.
Your host will begin with an introduction to the history and traditions surrounding chimney cakes in Hungary. After a demonstration, you’ll take your pre-prepared dough, roll it into smooth strips, and wrap it around a wooden spindle—an essential technique for achieving the cake’s signature hollow shape.
Once shaped, your chimney cake will be brushed in sugar and placed in the rotating oven, where it caramelizes to a perfect golden color. When it’s ready, choose from tasty toppings like cinnamon sugar, vanilla, cocoa, or walnut.
Enjoy your warm Kürtőskalács straight from the oven or take it with you as a sweet souvenir of Budapest. At the end, you’ll receive a Certificate of Achievement to remember your workshop.
