He established the Crocodile Park in 1983 in Cable Beach, initially with only 6 large crocodiles, aiming to conserve and educate about these creatures. Douglas produced over 50 documentaries, significantly contributing to wildlife awareness and conservation efforts in Australia. His work not only highlighted the importance of crocodiles in the ecosystem.
