Dive into the history of Bordeaux by checking out the Porte Cailhau, one of the city's old gates, built between 1493 and 1496 to celebrate Charles VIII's victory. This 35-meter-high monument mixes medieval and Renaissance architecture, right in the heart of the historic center.

The tour gives you access to an exhibition on medieval Bordeaux and a panoramic view from 23 meters up of the Garonne, the Pont de Pierre, and the city's rooftops. It's a great cultural activity for a solo outing, with family, or with friends.
