Upon arriving at the winery, tourists will be welcomed in the park with a cup of coffee in the winter months or with a 'Medio y Medio' (a traditional Uruguayan drink) in the summer months.
Next, the winemaker will tell you the story of the family business, from its beginnings and how it has evolved over time. Next, visitors will tour the Tannat vineyard, Uruguay's emblematic grape variety. Continuing their tour of the winery facilities, they will be able to see the production plant and its machinery, and enter an original tank from 1930. Then, they will proceed to the cellar, where we have the largest number of display barrels in Uruguay, dating back to 1940, a barrel cellar where we produce our Jerez Anticuario and where our Reserva and Gran Reserva wines age, and the cellar where our natural sparkling wine, Fond de Cave, rests, which is the largest active underground cellar on the continent. You will also receive a master class on the disgorgement of sparkling wine using the machinery we employ in this process.
Finally, you will visit the museum of the historic San Javier Winery, dating back to 1820, where we have wines from 1967, 1978, and beyond.
The tasting and lunch will take place in the winery's underground cellar.
