What you can expect

We'll meet at the fountain known as “El Pilón” in the Plaza Mayor.
We'll give a presentation so you know exactly what we'll be doing, and then we'll get the day started.

We'll head to the Plaza de Mangana, an idyllic spot to see one of the best viewpoints in the whole city and also a perfect place to talk about the origin of Cuenca's cuisine, since the three religions coexisted in this space.

From there, we'll head to the first restaurant stop: the Mangana restaurant, in the heart of Plaza Mayor, awaits us to taste the first typical food of Cuenca: the ajoarriero. This typical Cuenca dish will be accompanied by a local wine.

After that first experience, the second one awaits us at the Savbia restaurant; here we'll try another of the most typical local dishes, the morteruelo. Accompanied by white or red wine, this local product will be accompanied by the magnificent views of the Huécar river gorge, where you can see the Parador de Turismo and the viewpoint of the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús.

We'll then head to the Raff San Pedro restaurant, awarded several Repsol suns and recommended in the Michelin Guides. This place was a stable until the 19th century, and the 14th-century wall will serve as a perfect backdrop to accompany a typical Cuenca dish from the perspective of traditional signature cuisine.

When we're done, we'll head down to our last stop, the fourth one: the Casa Manzar restaurant. Here, we'll take a tour of the four floors of the restaurant, which was the home of the Cuenca composer and singer-songwriter Don José Luis Perales, who lived there for two decades. The tour of the house will end in the cellar, after you've enjoyed the beautiful and wonderful views of the Cathedral and another part of the Hoz del Huécar. We'll wrap up this part of the tour with local wine and one of the city's typical dishes.

When we leave Casa Manzar, we'll head towards the Hoz del Júcar to visually savor the spectacular landscape that nature and Cuenca's great river offer us. We'll head up to the Church of San Pedro, where we'll learn about the history of the temple and the castle that once stood in the background. Then, we'll stroll down the street of the same name, which was once the main street of the lords, and finish with a grand finale: a tasting of resolí, the typical liqueur of Cuenca, and the quintessential dessert of the land, alhajú.

NOTE 1: If you have any allergies, please let us know when you book so we can inform the restaurant and they can prepare accordingly.
NOTE 2: People who don't want wine, or are teetotalers, can drink beer, water, coffee, or soda.
NOTE 3: The minimum age for this tour is 18.
