I live in this small B&B on the hill, surrounded by nature, in Cassano delle Murge, between Bari and Matera. If you like, you can also stay overnight at my place!
Together, we'll knead the dough and make orecchiette and cavatelli, our typical fresh pasta. You'll be fascinated by the traditional recipes and the stories about how my grandmother used to make pasta, and about what cooking represented in the past and still partly represents today. An immersion in real Apulian life and Italian sociology!
Tatiana, my expert friend and collaborator who teaches through gestures and by example, will probably also be there. She only speaks Italian, but as always, she will be able to communicate with her heart and experience. As for me, I will communicate in English, Italian and French, even simultaneously if necessary.
And when you get home, you'll be able to make your own delicious food, and the memory of what she and I showed you will be invaluable.
The lunch that follows is a collaborative affair: everyone helps, works together, and, with dishes and pans in hand, even takes over my house, to my great delight, because I have so many typical items that tell the story of my beloved Puglia.
The wine and the foods I serve with the pasta are all local and mostly from my organic garden; a homely atmosphere and a convivial spirit.
Team-building events, anniversaries and parties are perfect here!
You can get here by car, by bus from Bari, or ask us to arrange a taxi.
Other things to keep in mind: The activity takes place outdoors, and if necessary, we will move indoors.
