This package is ideal for anyone who does not mind up to 2-3 hours very easy hiking. No previous experience of yoga is required and complete beginners are very welcome.
Nagarkot is well known as a tourist destination for admiring the views across the panorama of the Himalayas. However here, you are away from the crowds and see another side of life in the Kathmandu Valley. You are welcomed by your host family, and have the chance to get to know their family members and share in their meals and lifestyle. You are shown the local temples and admire the Himalayas from another perspective with your local guide.

Your homestay is about two hours’ drive from Kathmandu. When you arrive, you will be welcomed to the family home by your host. You will be taken for a walk to explore the village and surrounding area. In the evening you will be shown how to cook Nepali dal bhat and your hosts will explain more about the spices that they use. Many, like turmeric are grown in their gardens.
Day 2: Explore the Wonders of Nagarkot

Early in the morning, You will have the opportunity to take a yoga class that is run by one of the brothers of the families from the Community Homestay. Here your session will be held where you can also enjoy the view of the hills around you.

Admiring the Sunrise is what most people come to Nagarkot for. After an early morning wake up call, some tea and a light snack for breakfast you walk a short way up to the viewpoint where you can admire the sun rise over the Himalayas. Here too is a fascinating little temple where you will see local people coming to worship.

Returning to your family homestay for brunch, you then go to explore the nearby forest and waterfalls with your guide.

Day 3: Hike to Changu Narayan Temple and back to Kathmandu

After your last session of yoga you join your family for breakfast. You then hike down to Changu Narayan Temple, about 8 kilometres down from your homestay.

After 3-4 hrs hike you will reach Changu Narayan , a UNESCO World Heritage Site and said to be the oldest temple in Nepal, it has a shrine dating back to 325AD. It is dedicated to Lord Visnu and was reconstructed in 1702 after a devastating fire. You are then transferred to Bhaktapur which is just a few kilometres away to explore this ‘must see’ UNESCO World Heritage Site.
