CONTENTS: - Ski touring equipment - Avalanche safety equipment - Technique and tactics of the ascent and descent - Danger in the mountains in winter - Cross section of snow cover and types of snow base - Stability test of the snow cover - Proper procedures in case of the accident-searching with avalanche beacons, probing and Mountain rescue service - Situational rescue exercises from avalanches - Tour adjusted to the group’s knowledge LOCATIONS: - Mojstrana, Slovenia. Peaks and passes in the vicinity of the Julian Alps and Karawanks. - Astental, Austria. Summits above the Astental valley in the High Tauern. - Maltaberg, Austria. Peaks above the Maltaberg hamlet, in the valley of Maltatal.
