The round trip starts in Switzerland, in the green St. Johann Park in Basel, and leads down the Rhine past the impressive Novartis campus to the French border. From there, we cycle on French soil along the Quai du Rhin through charming St. Louis, past the idyllic Canal de Huningue, and then cross the elegant Dreiländerbrücke – the longest cantilevered pedestrian and cycle bridge in Europe, which takes us to Germany.
Once in Weil am Rhein, we continue across the border back into Switzerland, where we cycle through the Kleinhünigen harbor area – an exciting place undergoing a transformation between industry, logistics, and urban development. Shortly afterwards, we reach the symbolic border triangle where Switzerland, Germany, and France meet.
On the way back, we follow the Rhine upstream and pass the Klybeck Wood Park, a creative, urban open-air area with alternative cultural offerings. The tour ends with a real highlight: the ride over the Dreirosen Bridge, which offers a spectacular view of the Rhine and all three countries – perfect for ending the evening with a special view.
The bike tour covers about 10 kilometers and is mostly flat. It's a special experience for locals, visitors, or groups who want to discover the Basel region from a new, cross-border perspective.
More Bike. More Basel. More Adventure.
