The Virna farm has been producing the famous wines of the Langhe for three generations. Today, the farm is run by sisters Ivana and Virna Borgogno; Virna was the first woman in Italy to obtain the title of Enologist. The wines respect the territory and express a feminine touch in the purity and elegance of the Nebbiolo grape variety. We will take you to discover the winemaking process and visit the aging rooms with the famous oak barrels where Barolo matures for at least 18 months. You can also visit the bottle aging room and admire a collection of historic bottles of Barolo dating back to the 1960s. Afterwards, in the brick-vaulted tasting room, you can taste four different Barolos that express the different terroirs: Barolo Mga Cannubi, Barolo Mga Sarmassa, Barolo DOCG Noi, and Barolo del Comune di Barolo. We will show you the official map of Barolo and explain the history of the area and the different characteristics of the soils that give life to this extraordinary wine.
