What you can expect

  • Your journey through the culture of Barcelos begins with a welcome at our Folklore Store, a space that showcases Barcelos crafts as well as local products. You're in the Vinho Verde region, so there's nothing better than starting this adventure with a nice, chilled glass of Vinho Verde produced here. After the first sip — which we guarantee you'll love! — we'll serve our famous ham sandwich. This moment of togetherness and flavor is the perfect segue into an introduction to the world of clay. With your palate satisfied and your mind relaxed, it's time to meet our host artisan. He/she will guide you on a journey through the traditions of Barcelos, explaining the shaping process and answering any questions you may have. It will be an intimate conversation, light-hearted but rich in content :)

Between a sip of wine and a bite of ham, your hands will breathe life and personality into the clay. At the end, you'll take with you the memory of an authentic morning/afternoon spent like a true Barcelos artisan.
