What you can expect
There are 2 options in the Bandung Tangkuban Perahu Volcano Tours :
Option A = (Tangkuban Perahu - Domas Crater - Orchid Forest - Rainbow Waterfall)
(Tangkuban Perahu)
Your journey begins at Tangkuban Perahu, an iconic active volcano near Bandung, shaped like an overturned boat (hence its name). As you approach the crater, the scent of sulfur fills the air, and you’ll witness steaming vents and mineral-rich turquoise pools. The main crater, Kawah Ratu, offers a dramatic view of the volcanic basin, while smaller craters like Kawah Domas allow you to dip your feet in warm volcanic mud, believed to have healing properties. The surrounding lush greenery and misty atmosphere create an almost mystical experience.
(Orchid Forest)
Next, you’ll visit the enchanting Orchid Forest (Kebun Bunga Orchid), a hidden paradise filled with thousands of vibrant orchids and other exotic flowers. Walking through the treetop canopy bridges, you’ll be surrounded by a symphony of colors and fragrances. The forest also features charming gazebos, butterfly gardens, and photogenic spots like the “Nest of Love” and flower tunnels.
(Rainbow Waterfall)
In the late afternoon, your adventure continues to the magical Curug Pelangi Cimahi (Rainbow Waterfall). Surrounded by lush greenery. Walk down the forested path and listen to the soothing sounds of water while enjoying the fresh mountain air.
Option B = (Tangkuban Perahu - Domas Crater - Keraton Cliff - Tahura Djuanda)
(Tangkuban Perahu - Domas Crater)
The description of Tangkuban Perahu is the same as option A
(Keraton Cliff) Tebing Keraton
Afterward, the tour continues to Keraton Cliff, one of Bandung’s most photographed viewpoints. Standing on this cliffside, you’ll be treated to sweeping views over a vast green sea of the Cikapundung Valley and the lush forest canopy below. It’s the perfect spot for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts, especially if the mist rolls gently through the trees, creating a magical atmosphere.
Tahura Djuanda Forest Park
The final highlight of the day is a peaceful walk through Tahura Ir. H. Djuanda (Djuanda Forest Park), a protected conservation area rich in biodiversity and history. Wander along shady forest trails, discover old Dutch and Japanese war bunkers hidden among the trees, and explore natural attractions like caves and small waterfalls. The cool forest air and serene surroundings make it the ideal way to unwind after the day’s adventures.
Dutch Cave : A short walk away is the Dutch Cave, built earlier during the Dutch colonial era. It served as a communication post and military tunnel. With the help of your flashlight or a rented lantern, you'll explore the cave's cool, eerie corridors and hear stories from the past.
Japanese Cave : Your first historical stop inside the park is the Japanese Cave, a wartime relic used by the Japanese army during World War II as a hideout and storage facility. You’ll enter the dim tunnels and learn about its dark and fascinating history.
