This guided walking tour brings the city’s Gold Rush history to life through the places where it actually happened - from grand Victorian buildings to tucked-away lanes and overlooked corners filled with stories.
A relaxed 2–2.5 hour walk (approx. 1.5km) suitable for couples, solo travellers and small groups. Easy walking pace with regular stops.
Your guide leads the experience in period Victorian attire, blending storytelling, humour and historical detail to bring Ballarat’s past vividly to life.
You’ll also take home a small, locally designed Ballarat art print - a unique memento of the experience.

Midway through the tour, pause for a coffee, hot chocolate or chai inside one of Ballarat’s oldest hotels, while hearing the story of its early days and colourful former owner, Walter Craig.
