Experience one of Azerbaijan’s most captivating regions on this carefully designed journey from Baku to Sheki. Along the way, enjoy a stop at the historic Shamakhi Juma Mosque, one of the country’s oldest and most significant religious landmarks. The journey also includes a scenic stop at the beautiful Nohur Lake in Gabala, where guests can enjoy peaceful views of the surrounding mountains and capture memorable photos.
Upon arrival in Sheki, explore the architectural masterpiece of the Sheki Khan’s Palace, admire the historic Caravanserai, and witness the delicate artistry of traditional Shabaka craftsmanship. Entry to the Shabaka workshop is included in the tour package, where the world-renowned master craftsman Huseyn Hajimustafazade will demonstrate the unique technique of Shabaka making. Guests will see how wooden pieces are carefully cut and assembled without nails and how finished Shabaka products can be taken apart and rebuilt.
The tour also includes a visit to the ABAD exhibition center where you can explore traditional Azerbaijani culture, including carpets, national clothing, Khan garments, handicrafts, and miniature sculptures. Visitors may also try on traditional Azerbaijani outfits and take memorable photos.
As Sheki was one of the key cities along the historic Silk Road, merchants once stayed in the famous Caravanserai. Nearby local bazaars still reflect this vibrant trading history. Guests will have the opportunity to explore these small markets and taste the famous local Sheki halva.
An optional Azerbaijani wine tasting experience is also available during the tour. With a certified wine guide, guests may taste five different varieties of local wines and learn about Azerbaijan’s ancient winemaking traditions. This experience is optional and available for an additional fee.
The adventure continues with a scenic drive to the ancient Kish Albanian Church. Due to the mountainous terrain and road conditions, guests will enjoy a short mini-safari experience using vintage off-road Lada vehicles to reach the church. These vehicles are necessary because buses cannot access the road. This off-road experience is optional and available for an additional fee(5AZN).
The tour also includes a stop at the beautiful Khanland recreation area, where guests will have approximately one hour of free time to relax, enjoy the stunning mountain scenery of Sheki, take photos, or try optional attractions such as zipline, buggy rides, catapult, and other activities.
As a special bonus, guests who book this tour will receive a complimentary Gobustan–Absheron tour for the next day.
