What you can expect

Embark on a captivating full-day journey from Baku and discover the rich history, unique natural wonders, and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan in one seamless experience. Your tour begins with a visit to the site of the world’s first industrially drilled oil well (1846), where you will explore the historic First Oil Well and learn about Azerbaijan’s pioneering role in the global oil industry.

After this, continue to the elegant Bibi-Heybat Mosque, beautifully located along the Caspian Sea, where you can enjoy both its spiritual atmosphere and scenic surroundings.

Travel onwards to the remarkable Gobustan National Park, where ancient history and natural phenomena come together. Here, you will experience the famous mud volcanoes — one of Azerbaijan’s most unique natural attractions. To reach this area, you will switch to special SUV off-road vehicles, as the terrain is not accessible by regular transport. This off-road adventure takes you across a surreal, lunar-like landscape filled with bubbling mud formations found in very few places in the world.

After the mud volcanoes, visit the Gobustan Rock Art Museum, where thousands of prehistoric petroglyphs reveal fascinating insights into early human life, hunting scenes, and ancient rituals dating back thousands of years.

The journey continues to the Absheron Peninsula, where you will visit the historic Ateshgah Fire Temple, a sacred site associated with ancient fire worship and Zoroastrian traditions. Afterward, witness the natural wonder of Yanar Dag, where flames have been burning continuously from underground gas for centuries, creating a truly mesmerizing view.

At Yanar Dag, guests can also enjoy an optional quad bike (ATV) experience in the surrounding area. If you would like to include this activity, please inform us at least one day before the tour so the necessary arrangements can be made.

This tour offers a perfect combination of history, culture, and natural beauty, making it an ideal choice for travelers who want to explore the true essence of Azerbaijan in just one day.
